I am a 27 year old female who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 17, as a complication of type 1 diabetes. For a few weeks now I have had a lot of heart palpitations (several times an hour at the lowest). I had blood work done, thinking my thyroid meds needed to be lowered. But apparently, my numbers are in the lower end of the normal range. I have been on meds for my hypothyroidism since diagnosed, I am taking 175 mcg Levothyroxin (generic) a day now.

I can only find information about the link between hyperthyroidism and heart palpitations. What about hypothyroidism and heart palpitations? Is there such a connection? And, are these heart palpitations dangerous or just an annoyance?

I would greatly appreciate any input on this, as I am somewhat worried and want to know what is going on and how to deal with it.
