Add new commentthyroidstory.mivox.com was started as a simple blog dealing with my new diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Topics include medical information about hypothyroidism, information about hypothyroid medications like levothyroxine (Synthroid) and Armour Thyroid, as well as natural supplements like Thyromine, vincopectine and various vitamins and minerals. The site has now expanded to include discussion forums where other hypothyroid patients can discuss their experiences with hypothyroidism, and share tips for what medications, supplements and weight loss strategies have worked best for them.
thank you for the help... Submitted by Andy on Monday, 17 March, 2008 - 11:42pm I was having symptoms of lightheadedness, dry skin, tinnitus, eye tics basically all of those symptoms you have listed up there define me. I was suffering from all those symptoms for a long time. I first started to feel dizzy all the time so I went in and I knew something was wrong, and so I pursued to ask my mother about our family history, and she told me that everyone on my mothers side was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. So I asked my doctor to do a blood test. My TSH level was at 47 and I am a 20 yr old male who weighs 165 pounds, it was really hight. So I was put on .100mg of levothyroxine. After about a week I was lying in bed and all of a sudden I had an onset of severe dizziness, I went into the E.R and they said I had Labyrinthitis, and inner ear infection that causes vertigo and unbalance. I just want to put out their that if you were just diagnosed with hypothyroidism and you think their may be something else wrong with you... don't be shocked to hear that it is only your thyroid. Everyone hang in their if you are reading this and don't be disappointed about your diagnosis... it is easily well treated. I am now on .150 mg of levothyroxine after a week I am still lightheadness I am hanging in their and trying to deal with all of this but its hard when going to college and everything. Can someone relate to my symptoms and how long did it take you guys to bring your TSH levels to normal and start feeling good? Can someone help me out? Reply |
