thyroid and blood pressure

thyroidstory.mivox.com was started as a simple blog dealing with my new diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Topics include medical information about hypothyroidism, information about hypothyroid medications like levothyroxine (Synthroid) and Armour Thyroid, as well as natural supplements like Thyromine, vincopectine and various vitamins and minerals. The site has now expanded to include discussion forums where other hypothyroid patients can discuss their experiences with hypothyroidism, and share tips for what medications, supplements and weight loss strategies have worked best for them.

Had Thyroid removed in 06, cancer, blood pressure normal at 115/60, now rising steadily to 190/80. Was on Synthroid, switched to Armour 2 days ago. Anyone else doing the same thing?

In 2006 I had my thyroid removed, cancer. I was on Synthroid but after a few months I could not sleep and then 1 1/2 yr after surgery my bp started to raise, went from 120/61 to 190/90. Also had chest pressure which after many tests was proven not to be heart related. Now I am on Armour 120mg. TSH has to remain 0.0. Only been on Armour for 3 days, bp not changed yet. I would love to hear from anyone with similiar exiperence.

How's the Armour been treating you? I too had a total thyroidectomy back in 2003 and have been exclusively on Synthroid. I'm considering adding Armour (against the wishes of my endocrinologist) having seen a integrative physician recently. The growing fatigue and cold intolerance among many other issues are getting to be too much. However, I'm concerned not to do anything to bring back the cancer or worsen matters.
