I have been diagnosed with a high TSH all my life. Have always refused treatment. As I get older I am careful to get annual checkups and listen (try) to my DR's. I know my body is changing. I am 60yrs old, 187 lbs, 6' tall, muscular and play two complete soccer games every Sunday, go to the gym on Wednesdays, rebuild houses on the weekends, Ski, scuba etc. I have high energy and do not seem to have symptoms other than I seem to need more blankets at night that most folks. I also have a very large appetite. Almost embarrassing hungry. My TSH is 18.59, Free T4 is .69, T3 86, Cholesterol 209, Blood Sugar 100, every thing else is within suggested ranges. My work is very stressfull. I do get cold if I sit for extended periods in airconditioned rooms in the 60 degree range.

I recently took the Iodine test with 2% Iodine and the iodine spot was almost gone in 4 hours. Completely gone in 10 hours. My wife and I eat smart. By choice, we do not use salt. Eat vegies almost raw, very lean meat, chicken and fish, salads.

No medical person has asked about my diet, history, activities or anything past the TSH #. Have not been diagnosed with a "tag" on what I may have, just told to take mediacation. My preference is to take a supplement to move my numbers or exercise the heck out of the TSH (Joke). Would appreciate comments.
