Tests & Test Resultsthyroidstory.mivox.com was started as a simple blog dealing with my new diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Topics include medical information about hypothyroidism, information about hypothyroid medications like levothyroxine (Synthroid) and Armour Thyroid, as well as natural supplements like Thyromine, vincopectine and various vitamins and minerals. The site has now expanded to include discussion forums where other hypothyroid patients can discuss their experiences with hypothyroidism, and share tips for what medications, supplements and weight loss strategies have worked best for them.
Hello all, I've been reading up on Thyroid issues because I am trying to figure out if I have some disorder of the thyroid. What initially led me to explore it as a possibility is extreme knee and shoulder pain. I've seen Orthopedics, Rheumatologists and most recently an Endocrinologist. The Endo doesn't seem to think I have an issue but, yet, I think I am displaying several of the symptoms that many people are describing. So, I have a few questions...
My doctor suggested that I paint on a half dollar size amount of iodine to my skin and watch and see how fast it dissappears to check if I am iodine deficient? i painted a spot on at 8 am today and by 11 to 12 noon today it was extremely light, by 5 pm it was soaked all in and you could hardly see it. what does that mean? my doc said to continue daily with the spot until it stays dark, then I will know that my iodine is sufficient in my body? 4 comments | read more | quote
I had my 2nd round of blood work taken on Monday with the new doctor. I've been on Armour 135 mg for over 5 weeks now. I was on 90 mg Armour for 2 weeks when he authorized to increase it to 135 (90 in te morning and 45 in the afternoon). I did't have a blood test then as it had only been 2 weeks since my last and I told him I absolutely could not survive another day feeling the way I was. 7 comments | read more | quote
