Off Topicthyroidstory.mivox.com was started as a simple blog dealing with my new diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Topics include medical information about hypothyroidism, information about hypothyroid medications like levothyroxine (Synthroid) and Armour Thyroid, as well as natural supplements like Thyromine, vincopectine and various vitamins and minerals. The site has now expanded to include discussion forums where other hypothyroid patients can discuss their experiences with hypothyroidism, and share tips for what medications, supplements and weight loss strategies have worked best for them.
Wow, Have you ever seen the movie "Awakenings"? Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but I may be having my own awakening. I'm a 44 yr old male. As far back as I can remember,maybe 1st grade, I've been called " a nice boy, but a daydreamer", "sleepyhead", "forgetful", "scattered"....do I need to continue? Move ahead 44 yrs.
What confuses me is the fact that everyone is talking about grains of medication - in Canada dessicated thyroid is dispensed in mgs. My equivalent is 2X 30mg dosages (60mgs total) which has replaced my .100mgs of Synthroid. What's the proper conversion - which medication has the higher potency? It's been a couple of weeks since I've switched - I seemed to be crashing in the afternoons.  |
