Medical Records to Datethyroidstory.mivox.com was started as a simple blog dealing with my new diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Topics include medical information about hypothyroidism, information about hypothyroid medications like levothyroxine (Synthroid) and Armour Thyroid, as well as natural supplements like Thyromine, vincopectine and various vitamins and minerals. The site has now expanded to include discussion forums where other hypothyroid patients can discuss their experiences with hypothyroidism, and share tips for what medications, supplements and weight loss strategies have worked best for them.
Here it is: the bare-bones history of my test results, vital stats and prescriptions since my first TSH test in September. In most cases, the prescription and vitals listed for a particular month were taken/written 3–4 days after the blood tests were drawn, so I've just grouped them all together.
Went in for initial exam, had a gazillion blood tests ordered. Returned for test results, was given initial prescription, and sent for more bloodwork. Went in for first follow-up blood tests, prescription was increased. Second follow up blood tests came back "within normal range," I asked about switching to Armour because my symptoms had not entirely resolved. PhA recommended staying on Levo for a few more weeks to ensure I stabilized on the new 150mcg dose before considering changing meds. Labs came back well within normal range, but I asked to try Armour due to persistent cognitive symptoms. First check up after starting Armour. TSH was up, I asked for an increased prescription. T3 was high, but PhA said that was to be expected for a patient on birth control hormones. Went in feeling really good. Lab results came back with high T3 (again), and extremely low TSH. PhA insisted on lowering my prescription, even though I didn't want to.
As you can see, there have been no really major changes in my vitals, except for my weight (which I fear has gone back up a bit since July). As of today, I'm due for another round of blood tests this week, but haven't gotten around to going in for them yet. Updates posted as they happen, I'm adding a new blog category just for Test Results. :-) |
