4. EMAIL: Email conversations with members are not controlled or monitored in any way by this board. Each individual is completely responsible for their own interactions via email. We ask you not contact other members via email without obtaining permission via private message (PM) first. However, since we cannot control such activity, if you are the recipient of an unwanted email contact it is your personal responsibility to choose how to respond.

Email conversations are also considered private communication between the parties involved, and may NOT be re-posted on the message boards in any form.

5. PRIVATE MESSAGING: This site allows members to exchange private messages through the board software. These messages should NOT be posted on the message boards without permission of all participating members, but if some form of harassment or abuse is being perpetrated through PM, you may forward the offending message to an administrator if you feel intervention is necessary.

6. CONFIDENTIALITY: If you are concerned about board members knowing your 'real world' identity, we suggest signing up with a free email service (such as Yahoo Mail, Hotmail or Gmail) under a pseudonym, and using that information to create your account here. While the administrators of this site will not reveal any records about our members without a court order, we are also not responsible for the information you choose to include in your profile. Keep in mind that your profile can be viewed by any of the board members, and decide what information you want to reveal accordingly.

7. THIRD-PARTY CONFIDENTIALITY: We ask that you write your posts with consideration for the other individuals involved in the situations you are discussing. Because many of the discussions on this board will be of a highly personal and often sensitive nature, we ask that you take care to keep your posts 'anonymous' in regards to other individuals involved.

POSTING GUIDELINES:

Member accounts may be deactivated at administrators' discretion for repeated or severe violations of the following basic guidelines:

1. When giving advice, we strongly recommend phrasing your post in terms of what has worked for you personally, or what your personal impressions of the situation are, rather than using "You should" and "You shouldn't" language, or speaking in absolutes. If you are offering advice based on something you've read, please cite the author and/or title of the work, to clarify whose position you are asserting.

2. Occasionally, a thread may become excessively combative. If such a 'flame war' breaks out, the administrators may remove the offending posts from the open thread (or delete the thread entirely. We will then invite the individuals involved to work out their differences in a private moderation area.

IMMEDIATE BANS:

Members will be subject to immediate deletion of their account, and possibly a ban from viewing the site, if any of the following situations occur:

1. If a member is found to be using their account to impersonate another individual.

2. If a member is found to be 'harvesting' profile information of other members for any reason.

3. If a member is using their account primarily for commercial promotion of any kind.

4. If a member is using their account to promote illegal activities or instruct/recruit other members' participation in such activities.

5. If a member is using their account to harass or stalk another member.

We do not screen/pre-approve posts. We do our best to monitor the board and enforce these guidelines, but if you see a post you believe violates this Terms of Service Agreement, please notify a moderator so we can review it.
